Random Monday thoughts

Well, it's Groundhog's Day...again. And because January wasn't long enough, Mr. Groundhog saw his shadow today, which means six more days of winter. Ding! I love that movie :)

Guess it's not time to put away the Uggs or deep winter jacket just yet.

Anyhow, today was kind of a long day so I'm putting tonight's random thoughts into a bulleted list, with a strong Super Bowl focus (for this week.)
  • Jennifer Hudson looked fabulous last night singing the national anthem. Her voice is still strong and she looked nervous but composed. She's a fighter and she came back with style. I totally want that outfit
  • I used to hate clothing tags that would itch my back or hip, but now that clothes have gone tagless, I have started wearing my clothing inside out more frequently. This especially includes: T-shirts and underwear. Last week, I wore clothing inside out at least three times. I'm a freak
  • The Office! After a disappointing few weeks, the Office was super awesome last night. Granted, I could always use more Jim/Pam sweetness in my life, but Dwight's "safety training" exercises were more than enough enjoyment. One of my favorite parts was during the fire when Angela threw her cat into the ceiling, only to see it crash back down on the opposite side of her desk. I could not stop laughing.
  • I think Lulu (my Macbook) is having temper tantrums. Lulu has been freezing up a lot lately, forcing me to have to restart the computer without properly shutting down. So I turned on my inner geek switch and broke in my new back-up hard drive (just to be safe.) I would freak out if I lost all of my photos and music, so to be safe, I have a date with the Genius Bar this weekend!
  • As soon as I saw the GI Joe and Transformers 2 trailers last night, I could see my friend Ryan go into a child-like joy fit. I have a feeling I will be dragged to one or both of those movies this summer. I'll go willingly to one, but not the other
  • Super Bowl commercials - Careerbuilder: Tips and Doritos: Crystal Ball. Why? Throwing a snowglobe to get free snacks is hilarious and wishful thinking. And let's be honest, when you're not happy in your job, who hasn't cried constantly, screamed, daydreamed of being somewhere else or wanted to punch small animals? I do love koalas though.

  • My favorite all-time Super Bowl ad: Bud Light swear jar. I have a potty mouth so anytime TV beeps out swears, I cannot stop laughing. More immaturity

How did you celebrate the game? Or what is your favorite Super Bowl celebration food? The food spread was thin where I was, but I'm planning something bigger for the Oscars, with taco dip!

Sometimes I wish the game was on Saturday night so I could fully celebrate with fatty foods and beer but I need to lay off the booze now anyhow.

Happy Monday!

I heard on the news today that Jennifer Hudson and Faith Hill weren't singing live. I hate that, but it was at the request of the superbowl people.

I made real buffalo wings. I usually go all out, but Sundays are my fundays. A girl has to rest!

I couldn't stop laughing at Dwight's reference to Silence of the Lambs and cut the dummy's face off! Holy crap, that was funny as hell.

Oh my gosh, don't get me started on GI Joe. My old employer bid on a bunch of the visual effects for it so I was up to my eyes in it all last year.

Mister is *definitely* down for both GI Joe and Transformers, and I think I'm going to go just to hold him while he weeps tears of joy.

Yeah, Doritos CM was funny...

My favorite Superbowl food is homemade pizza!!!! :D

The first five minutes of that Office episode were funnier than any other one of their episodes. I was laughing so hard I was barely able to breathe!

The swear jar was pretty good too. I liked when the co-worker told her 'poop' (I feel icky just typing that!) didn't count and she went off on him!

the office was hilarious. michael's roast made me cry, and angela's cat toss was brilliant. anyone else notice that she pulled the cat out of a file cabinet drawer?! amazing.

I loved The Office. That scene with Angela's cat made the whole show.

I have never seen that swear jar commercial. It's hilarious! What year was that from?

The Super Bowl should totally be on a Saturday evening. It would make it much easier to go out, drink more and have fun. Everyone always has the big dark Monday cloud hanging over their heads on Sundays.

The Office WAS great! And my Hubby was so excited to see that GI Joe commercial, and so disappointed when I said, "So he wasn't just a regular soldier?"
And I loved all of the commercials you mentioned, but also those stupid talking babies on the eTrade commercials (most talking babies are freaky, but I find those funny for some reason).

1. Tagless clothing is THE BOMB! But I can't wear underwear inside out. Only T-Shirts.

2. She looks beautiful, Jennifer.

3. Those commercials made me snort.

The Dylan/Will I. Am Pepsi commercial makes me cry. I've YouTubed it like a hundred times already... By far my favorite. I think it's because I'm trying so hard to stay young! :)

I'm with you on the tagless clothing. I also wear it backwards as well now... and then just burst out laughing around 11 at work when I realize my shirt is slightly awkward.

Agreed Hudson looked great but why do people feel the need to add a "personal touch" to national anthems. I'm not even American and it makes me crazy.

I loved the Dwight safety drill. Every time I think of Angela throwing that cat I can't stop laughing.

I was in a bar in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan with my best New York friend who happens to be from Pittsburgh! She got really upset when Cardinals pulled ahead. Then she was excited and danced on the bar after the game while the "Here we go" song played. I just sort of sat there in awe of everyone's excitement, ha ha.

I highly recommend backing up your files... I just find out I have to pay $855 to recover photos from the last four years after my iBook's hard drive decided to crash this past weekend. I'm an idiot and hadn't backed anything up!

That swear jar ad was my favorite, and I almost cried when I had to miss The Office to "be a parent."

Love your blog!! :)

I do that too with wearing my clothes inside out unknowingly. I love the tagless trend though, my skin is insanely sensitive!

Back up your stuff. I just lost everything on my macbook. Let me be a warning for you!!!

I didn't get to see the end of The Office. All I saw was Michael at a park. Because the Super Bowl ended late...dvr didn't tape the entire thing. Boooooh!
