Ladies and gentleman, meet Leggies, my legwarmers, which I finished this weekend with a little swearing, needles and sewing.
This is very exciting for me because I did them, all on my own (with some help from Yoda Amanda). Sure they don't look professional and yes in hindsight I might have changed a few things, but I did it on my own and I think they look pretty hot, especially with these flats.
So watch out Chicago, Leggies and I are taking it to the streets! The tourists should have a field day when they see me, fortunately Speedy will help "class them up."
Now I have to find my next knitting-related project. Hmm, might be scarf time again but time with some purl action.
I am a domestic goddess. Now I just need to find a way for "jelly" shoes to come back, oh how I miss those.
To celebrate this knitting achievement, please enjoy more favorite things of mine from the 80s because looking back, I can laugh ;) Let me know what else I'm missing from this wonderous list.

they're adorable! :) I need a pair...
i miss the 80s! granted i only remember the last few years of the 80s but damnit! i miss em!
and your way ahead of me on the knitting/crocheting stuff. i started out making a few tarot bags for myself and created like 2? maybe it was 3--i don't remember. anyyways, if i tried again right now i'd fail so hard.
i'm domestic in that i can cook really well -i'm creative- i think sometimes i'd like to go to culinary school -Michael Symon would be my mentor (in my dreams) *drools* oh he's SO HOT for a chef -its the bald head i'm sure.
ok! i'm off here to dream of Michael Symon...
I also was a big Alf fan back in the 80s as well as Fraggle Rock. It's so strange the things that kids enjoy.
The leg warmers look nice and I really like your shoes too :)
They came out so cute!! I can't wait to make this my next project.
AND I love the flats.
Aw, I love them!! It makes me want to try to make a pair heh
Nice job on the leggings! Good color choice too!
Awww Fullhouse, that and Saved by Bell were the best.
good job jess!! and i think you should rock the jelly's - i mean bring them back! maybe wait until spring to start that trend again but i know you can do it.
LOOOOVE THEM. where they hard? how do did you do that? Could I whip them up in a weekend?? Color me intrigued!!
Aww Jess, please make one for me please???? I love them!!! Cute!!
I am loving your Tory Burch shoes also;)
My feet hurt just thinking about jellies. And somehow, mine always smelled, even after I washed them out!
Those do rock! I'm going to be looking them out in the city with my camera ready!
great job! no small wonder or silver spoons? haha
The leg warmers look great! And you can never have too many of those.
FULL HOUSE?!! You are my new best friend. :) Love the legwarmers. You did a great job!
You're so creative!
Your rewind to the 80's reminded me that I'm going to a saved by the bell party the weekend after next... and while it's not technically from the 80's, it definitely falls under the childhood umbrella!
i LOVE your pumps!
I could use a new pair of gloves.
Hint hint.
Awesome! All I ever knew how to knit was beer cozies, I think maybe a scarf. You could to pull off the jelly shoes! I <3 the 80s.
Awesome, all I can ever knit are scarves.
I bought some jellies from Target and wore them all over town the last two summers.
The new pastor intern at my mom's church wore jelly shoes the other week. My sister almost died, but maybe she's on to something.
Also, love the flats. I can't wait to hear how the warmers go over.
And Yay! for the Facts of Life and Full House, two of the best shows, ever!
Can I just say that you are, by far, the most awesome person ever. I am beyond delighted and amazed by your leg warmers!
How do you WEAR leg warmers in the winter, prey tell? I'm all about more ways to stay warm in the winter - but how to wear those cute little things?!
Those are adorable! I keep telling myself to learn to knit and you've inspired me to make that a priority! Great work!
love love love the 80's. also love how you turned a post about legwarmers (so cute) into memory lane...ahh the good ole times :)
So cute! I'm jealous, I'm still in the scarf stage...and only with the knitting, I have no clue how to purl. And come to think of it, I think I might be forgetting how to even knit!
i dunno if this is creepy or cool, but your leg warmers were in my dream last night. not sure if they were on your legs or just walking around by themselves, but they were definitely there...
way to go!!!
and i totally heart your flats.
Good job, leggings are the best! I like the blue.
Those are so cute. Jellys are back, I see them in the shoe section of Target all the time.
Those look great. I was making legwarmers, but they are a little too tight on the bind-off, so they're....armwarmers? Maybe? I haven't decided how to repurpose them just yet.
How totally cute! I love!
I am in awe of anyone who can make anything outside of food. I lack all crafty instincts, though I try on occasion.
Cute! I still haven't finished a scarf I started knitting 2 years ago. Good job!
Love, love, LOVE them!
When I was a kid I climbed a tree while wearing my "jellies," which caused me to slip and fall out of the tree head-first. I still have a pretty decent scar on my chin where my face cracked open. So I think I'll be OK if that particular fashion trend doesn't come back! ;-)
Amazing! Those are so much fun - I love wearing my projects too, I didn't know we were craft buddies!
I'm not going to feel like I'm boring everyone when I post projects now lol Thank you!
Those leg warmers rock! I could've used a pair this morning when I walked my dog. My pajama bottoms just weren't cutting the wind enough. It was freezing!
Oh great. You refuse to play ball on this 90s thing, don't you. Well... ok then! I have to admit you are rocking the 80s look so I won't stand in your way!!
Very cool - I'm sure leggings will be super trendy in Chicago once everybody sees you rocking them.
LOVE leg warmers and love the 80's. Does it seem like people were way "cooler" in the 80's than now, or is it just me?
The leg warmers are so cute! Awesome knitting skills! I really love your shoes too!
O.M.G (squee) I loved Facts of Life and Full House! I used to watch FoL reruns on USA every day in the summer!
I love your legwarmers - they make me smile just looking at them!
You should make some more leggings and sell em on etsy girl! their cute!
i don't know if i'd be able to rock the leg warmers, but those are pretty cute. nice job!
I was only a baby during the 80s so I can't really miss them per se...but I did love a lot of their shows when I was little like Full House.
I just learned how to knit, made a rather nice scarf for my daughter's 4th birthday. Enjoy your leggies Ma'am.
- Kendall
I'm in LOVE with those legwarmers. I used to know how to knit, but haven't done it in awhile. This winter break, I am definitely learning!
I also looooove jellies and had jellie flip flops this summer! They were super cute, but they really hurt!
oh my gosh! those 80 shows were THE BEST...along with so many others!
are you wearing tory burch flats?
Oh how I loved The Facts of Life!
The leg warmers are so cool! Do you have a pattern for them? I need a new knitting project to get me motivated!
Dudette- I love these leg warmers. I especially love the trim and the color. Also? Where are those flats from. I want them badly!
Oh man, those are so sweet. I may have to knit me a pair too.
Last year Target had some jellies in the $1/$2.50 bins. I bought a pair of pink ones that were a size too small just because I loved them so much as a kid. Unfortunately they pinch my toes too much to wear, but I still have them :)
And where are your leggings, my dear?
I saw jellies this summer! God, what a wretched shoe. They come with built-in blister-makers.
Very cute! I love them, Jess!
I think they are absolutely adorable and you get lots of points since you made them. So awesome!
Okay, this weirdly timed but I just started my own knitting project. My church at home does this thing where people make prayer shawls for people in the church who are sick (cancer and stuff) and are in and out of hospitals. They are basically big scarves, but they are super easy to make that way and you know the people appreciate them. Just a thought if you need a project.
I pay a quick visit every day some websites and websites to read posts, however this website provides quality based posts.
